Education For Children Awareness Nepal (ECAN)

ECAN is a Non-Profit Organization, newly established in 2016, registered with Government of Nepal and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council, which aims to make educate under privileged children of Nepal.
According to UNESCO, only 7 out of 10 children in Nepal are enrolled in Grade 1 and reach to Grade 5 and finish primary school and more than half of them quit school before reaching lower Secondary level (up to Grade 8). According to Child Labor report of Nepal of 2010, about 1.6 million children in Nepal are working and 6,21,000 children workers among them are working in high risk jobs. Similarly, about 1,65,422 children are working as domestic workers. So, looking at the numbers that statistics shows, ECAN has its own vision and mission to bring changes by making an example that one alone can bring change. We want to inspire individuals to bring change from their levels.
Our vision is that everybody should have the opportunity to develop his/her fullest potential. To be able to grow, it is essential to receive education. Only then it is possible to experience all aspects of life. We want to ensure a brighter future for under privileged and handicapped children by providing quality education and support.
Our mission is to promote education for every child. Furthermore, we want to protect and enhance the safety, well-being of children.To do that, we are focusing on the following points:
- Emphasize the importance of education to families who need the working power of their children.
- Provide quality education and support, especially to underprivileged children.
- Create awareness about the inportance of health and education through awareness programs
